Apple Music announces PsychoYP as the featured artist for this month’s Rap Life Africa

This week's episode of Apple Music's Rap Life Radio, hosted by Ebro Darden, Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B, will feature PsychoYP, a rapper on the rise from Nigeria. Ebro and Nandi Madida, the new host of Africa Now Radio, discuss his new Apple Music single "This Country" featuring Jordan Knows.

Other artists featured on Rap Life Radio besides PsychoYP include Nasty C, whose "No More" offers listeners on an exhilarating trip through his accomplishments and aspirations, and Indigo Stella, whose "Another" is taken from the highly anticipated debut album Interstella.

A Look At

This Abuja native's early exposure to music influenced his signature rap-sung trap sound, which he debuted on his debut EP Lost In The Sauce (2016). His development is on full display in his newest album, Osapa London (2023), which follows nominations at the South African Music Awards and the HipTV Headies Awards and a win of the Clout Africa Award for Best Hip-Hop Artiste in 2022.

Ahead of the Curve

Since I was 19 years old, I've been an advocate for hip-hop, so appearing on the cover of Rap Life is a huge accomplishment for me, my crew, my family, and my fans. Apple Music is informed by PsychoYP. It's the perfect time for the world to hear PsychoYP, and I'm ready to get started. Osapa London is an endeavour of mine that bridges the gap between my rap sound and its Afro-influenced roots. The most Nigerian version of myself, according to many people.
