Asisat Oshoala makes history WWC

Asisat Oshoala, a forward for Nigeria, has made history by setting a new record at the Women's World Cup, which is still going on.


The talented footballer, who plays for the Spanish champions FC Barcelona Femen, scored a key goal in her country's important 3-2 win over Australia. This was Nigeria's first win at the event and moved them to the top of Group B. With this win, they have a good chance of making it to the next round.

Oshoala's goal not only helped Nigeria win, but it also gave her a special award. With this goal, she became the first and only African woman to score in three different Women's World Cups.

Oshoala had played for Nigeria in the 2015 and 2019 World Cups, where he scored goals in both of those tournaments. Her latest goal against Australia in the 2023 World Cup makes sure that she will be remembered.

During the game, Oshoala also reached another important milestone. She scored the first goal by a Nigerian player who came off the bench at the Women's World Cup.

After the exciting game, Oshoala talked about how happy she was to score against the co-host country and how excited she was to keep scoring throughout the competition.
