Comedian Tshigo dies at 30

On Saturday, Mmboniseni Mudau, well known as Tshigo the Comedian, was laid to rest in the Folovhodwe Tshipale Cemetery. On the morning of July 11, he passed away at Helen Joseph Hospital following a protracted but unidentified illness. He had just turned thirty.

The renowned and adored comedian first became well-known for his delivery of Tshivenda jokes with a thick Zimbabwean accent.

His sister, Ms. Ronewa Mudau, claimed that his passing had left the family with an unfillable emptiness. "He was only a comedian to his admirers, but he was everything to us. My brother had been ill for a while, but we believed he would recover and live. Tshigo had a great sense of humour. He would make powerful arguments but always in a lighthearted tone during family gatherings. He was someone who I held in high regard, and I shall miss him dearly, she said.

After his passing was confirmed, condolences from family, friends, and admirers flooded in. His close buddy, radio host, and fellow comedian Rudzani Khalushi, also known as "Bravo 1020" in the entertainment industry, was one of the first to convey their sympathies. "My heart is broken. Tshigo was more to me than just a friend and coworker. We have a solid relationship that had kept us together for so long. Around that time, I discovered his enormous skill, which was going unnoticed, and set out to find him. I assisted in his promotion across a variety of social media channels. When he went independent, his following increased from a few thousand to more than 40,000, proving how well-liked he had become.

The comedian Livhuwani Madadzhe, better known by his stage name SABC Livhu, was another coworker and friend of his. He called his passing "a sad loss to the entertainment industry"

Godfrey Mawela, the mayor of Musina, also sent his sympathies to the family, saying that Tshigo's passing affected not only the family and the entertainment business but also the entire Musina town.

On Friday, July 14, a vigil was organised at Folovhodwe Tshipale in his honour.
