Employment Ministry alarms public against recruitment fraud

The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR) has issued a warning to job seekers about fraudulent job postings posted online.

In a statement sent to the Ghana News Agency, the Ministry of Information addressed rumours of a recruitment drive headlined "The Ministry of Information: Information Officers Upcoming Interview."

According to the release, the publication also instructed the selected candidates to fill out Public Services Interview Evaluation Forms by Wednesday in preparation for interviews beginning on Thursday, 20th July 2023, at the various Ministries of the Government.

A Ghana Card or other acceptable form of identification; a Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) number; copies of a current resume, certificates, transcripts, and Public Services Interview Evaluation (PSIE) forms; and completed PSIE forms were all listed as items that should be submitted to the Ministry of Information.

As the message explained, "The MELR has not officially notified the public of any recruitment from the Ministry of Information on the said date." This was important information for people looking for work and young people.

It said that the MELR was not a recruitment body and that the Office of the Head of Civil Service was responsible for all recruitments for government institutions.

The statement urged readers to ignore reports about the aforementioned recruitment interview because they were the work of con artists.
