Exporting semi-processed sugar causes Financial loss - Yussif Sulemana (NDC MP)

Yussif Sulemana, the MP for Bole Bamboi, has accused the administration of costing the state money by bringing in semi-processed sugar to be refined at the Komenda Sugar Factory in the Central Region.

.

The MP claimed that although $24 million had been allocated by Parliament in 2016 for the growing of sugarcane to supply enough raw materials for the facility, the government had not used the money, leaving the factory inoperable.

?

After KT Hammond, the Minister of Trade and Industry, addressed inquiries from lawmakers regarding the facility, Sulemana addressed the media and claimed that by failing to use the factory, the government had deprived young people work prospects.
