Former President Uhuru Kenyatta asks the Government to leave his Family out of their Issues

After the raid on his eldest son Jomo Kenyatta's home in Karen by people who may have been police, former president Uhuru Kenyatta lashed out at the administration.

Uhuru claimed that the police arrived at the house in vehicles with Sudanese licence plates and had called him to let him know.

When I got the call that the police had arrived, I was at work. I was told that they rode in cars with plates from Sudan. I told them to hold off till I get here," he stated.

Uhuru went on to explain that he had done his best for Kenya as president, and that he would defend his family against any attack.

Instead of "harassing his mother and children," he challenged the authorities to meet him head-on.

My silence does not reflect any irrational fear on my part. Uhuru challenged, "Come For Me if it is I that you want.

I served my country honourably and retired when my time was over; now I will do everything it takes to protect my loved ones.

He spoke out against the raid on his son's Karen house, arguing that the government should address him rather than meddle in his family's affairs.

The government called off the police guarding Mama Ngina's house less than a week before the raid.

On Tuesday, law enforcement sources explained the withdrawal as a debriefing opportunity.

On Wednesday, however, after the family hired private security, the guards were brought back.

Uhuru said that his successor, President William Ruto, is not interested in talking to him about the challenges, despite the fact that he has engaged Ruto on the matter.

You're having a private conversation with someone who has sought you out. He hasn't given me any reason to believe he wants to communicate to me, and as a former president, I don't see the point in pursuing him. The spacecraft Uhuru struck a posture.

When asked if the safety of his family was in jeopardy, the President responded:

Yes, that is exactly why I am here. I will protect my loved ones and will not back down from a fight.

Financial Azimio demonstrations urged the Kenyan president to address pressing problems.

Where was I when those things happened? Have you heard me discuss any of those occurrences? he asked.

He denied providing funds for Azimio Demos and argued that the government should approach the issue properly.

Uhuru argued that the accusations that he was sponsoring Azimios were unfounded and that the government's priority should be serving the people.

Instead of climbing on top of cars to make claims, you should address the real problems facing Kenyans. Stop seeking for scapegoats and start fixing the problems that real people are facing. When I was in charge, I dealt with problems that directly affected the public, he explained.

The President acknowledged that he does not take part in demos, but he defended the freedom of Kenyans to exercise their constitutional duty.

He has vowed to continue supporting Raila Odinga, head of the Azimio party, because doing so is within his constitutional rights.

He said the late President Daniel Moi was a member of the Kanu party till his death.

He promised to leave the Jubilee Party "at the right time," and he also claimed he would not let the current regime drive him out of politics.

This is my democratic right under the constitution that the people of Kenya ratified. In the end, Moi gave his life for the Kanu. Is there something wrong with that?

I had intended to step down as Jubilee leader. However, I would not do it to a puppet regime, because they have official backing.

He assured Raila Odinga, leader of the ODM, that their friendship and allegiance to one other would not alter.

Is it forbidden for me to communicate with my peers? Is that now a punishable offence in Kenya? Perhaps," he suggested, "you should tell me.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has publicly backed Raila Odinga, his longtime political opponent, to succeed him in the upcoming presidential election in August 2022.

Uhuru claims that Raila's intentions for the country were good.

However, Uhuru's former vice president, William Ruto, now serves as Kenya's fifth president after defeating Raila in the election.

After William Ruto defeated Raila and two other candidates in the August 9 polls, former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati announced his victory on August 15, 2022.

In contrast to Raila's 6.9 million votes, Ruto received 7.1 million.
