Ghana qualifies for Tennis World Cup

At the 2023 Africa Group IV Championship held at the Ecology Tennis Club in Kigali, Rwanda, the Golden Rackets of Ghana qualified for the World Cup of Tennis (Davis Cup) Africa Group III.

Following a 2-1 victory against Kenya in the opening match, 2-1 victories over Cameroun and Botswana to close up the group stage, Team Ghana took first place in Pool A.

Ghana defeated Rwanda, the host nation, 3-0 in the promotional play-offs.

Mr. Isaac Aboagye Duah, president of the Ghana Tennis Federation, thanked the valiant Golden Rackets and advised them to work hard to advance to Zone Two because success is possible with effort, commitment, and determination.

The Golden Rackets can reach Zone Two, according to coach Fred Egyir, if they are inspired and motivated.
