Ghanaians should honor Leaders

Mr. Samuel Koku Sitsofe Anyidoho, Founder of the Atta Mills Institute, has urged Ghanaians to recognise leaders who have contributed to the country's achievements.

"It is critical to honour our leaders for their contributions and the values they stood for in order to foster a sense of unity and pride among citizens," he said.

He stated that although the public remembered the accomplishments of the forefathers, particularly the "Big Six" who spearheaded the struggle for Ghana's independence, it was equally vital to consider strategies to propel the country forward.

"Recognising our forefathers' achievements can inspire current and future generations to uphold those principles and work towards the country's development," he added.
Mr. Anyidoho told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that "the role of others cannot be ignored because lead actors play critical roles in creating movements all over the world and in our daily lives."

He asked Ghanaians to recognise the joint efforts that led to freedom and independence from colonial authority, as well as to embrace the ideas for which their forefathers battled.
"On this auspicious Founders' Day celebration," he remarked, "let us remember the vision, sacrifice, and dedication of our leaders, their unwavering commitment that laid the foundation for our great nation, Ghana."

Mr. Anyidoho emphasised the need of renewing our resolve to defend the ideas of unity, democracy, and progress, adding that Ghanaians could continue their path towards a brighter future for all Ghanaians if they worked together.

Founders' Day is historically significant in Ghana because it commemorates the achievements of successive generations of Ghanaians who played crucial roles in the country's liberation from colonial domination.
