OIC Applauds Azerbaijan's Proposed Medical Road for Armenian Residents

The OIC General Secretariat recognises that Azerbaijan has the right to set up border checkpoints on its own land in response to security threats and in accordance with the rules and principles of International Law. The OIC also welcomes Azerbaijan's decision to make it easier for Armenians to use the Lachin road for medical purposes and its suggestion to use the "Aghdam-Khankendi" route for transporting larger cargo.

These kinds of projects would help the people become a part of Azerbaijani society again.

The General Secretariat asks Armenia not to do anything that could cause trouble and to support using "Aghdam-Khankendi" and other paths suggested by Azerbaijan to meet the needs of the Armenian people.

The OIC General Secretariat says it's important to move forward on the road of peace and take the steps needed to make the region safer and more stable.
