Pass Affirmative Action Bill into law – PNAfrica

Sammy Obeng, executive director of PNAfrica, has urged the government to show it is serious about passing the Affirmative Action Bill.

Mr. Obeng argues that the administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo must be different from previous ones in its dedication to passing the Bill.

Mr. Obeng, speaking at a high-level breakfast meeting on the Gender Advocacy to Parliament Project (GAP) in Accra on Friday, said the government should present the Bill to Parliament for legislative examination before the current parliament's term ends in January 2025.

He remarked that it was encouraging that President Akufo-Addo had previously promised to deliver the Bill to the House, but that words needed to be followed by deeds.
