When people on the Internet heard that a theft had happened at the home of Cecilia Dapaah, who is the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, they were shocked and confused.

A story in "The Chronicle" says that between July and October 2022, cash worth millions of Ghana Cedis, $1 million, and €300,000 was stolen from the couple's home in Abelemkpe, a neighbourhood of Accra.

Some of Madam Cecilia Dapaah's personal belongings were also taken, including clothes worth GH95,000 and handbags, perfumes, and gold worth US$95,000.

Not only that, but also the clothes of her husband, which were worth $3,000.

But this has made a lot of people angry or confused on the Internet. They don't understand why they would keep so much money in her house.

Nana Aba Anamoah and Serwaa Amihere, two well-known people, have also said what they thought.

People are also talking about how politicians live like kings on the backs of users because of this event.

Some of Cecilia Dapaah's housekeepers and other people are being tried for stealing.

Patience and Sarah are accused of planning to break the law and taking five times. They are accused of taking $1 million in US dollars, €300,000 in Euros, and millions of Ghana Cedis.

During the same time, the two are said to have stolen personal items from Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, such as clothes worth GH95,000, handbags, perfumes, and gold worth US$95,000, among other things.

Patience is also accused of stealing from the minister's husband while she was alone six pieces of Kente cloth worth GH90,000 and six sets of men's clothes worth US$3,000.

The court also brought charges against three more people for the crimes.

Benjamin, a plumber who is 29 years old, was also accused of stealing GH180,000. A businessman named Kweku Botwe, who is 65 years old, is being accused of stealing GH50,000. Also, Malik Dauda, who is 23 and has no job, is said to have lied his way to GH1 million.

On Thursday, July 20, 2023, all five accused people went to an Accra Circuit Court where Judge Susana Ekuful was in charge. But so far, no one has listened to their cries.
