Samuel Boadu new coach of Kumasi Cornerstone FC

Sportsworldghana.com can exclusively announce that former Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu has joined lower-tier Kumasi Cornerstone FC as their new coach for the upcoming season.

He wants to guide the team back to Division One after two seasons in Division Two.

Boadu signed a one-year contract with Cornerstone FC to help the "Obeye yie" team return to the second division of Ghanaian football after winning the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

After Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu manages the national U20 team.

The oldest Ashanti Region football team, Kumasi Cornerstone FC, was founded in 1931. The club won the 1998 WAFU Championship, 1959 and 1965 FA Cups, and the 1997 Telecom Gala.

Cornerstone has nurtured Ghanaian football's best players, including former African Footballer of the Year Abdul Razak. Stephen Frimpong Manso, Emmanuel Amoah, Malik Jabir, and Sampson Appiah are other club alumni.

The club was Ghana's biggest in the 1970s and 1980s. Unfortunately, mismanagement has pushed the squad to the lower ranks of Ghanaian football.
