Teacher dies in accident on Wenchi-Bamboi road

The Wenchi Police have detained a heavy-duty truck driver who is accused of running over and murdering a teacher on the Wenchi-Bamboi route in the Bono Region.

According to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the tragic tragedy occurred on Thursday afternoon on the section of road in front of the Wenchi Model "C" basic school.

While investigations were ongoing, the body was stored at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

A trustworthy source at the Wenchi Divisional Police Command verified the occurrence but declined to comment further.

Nonetheless, one eyewitness told the GNA that the deceased was riding a motorbike when the incident occurred, and that the deceased was travelling in the same direction as the heavy-duty truck filled with timber.
