Akuffo-Addo Appoints Freda Prempeh As New Sanitation Minister.

Freda Akosua Oheneafrewo Prempeh, Minister of State at the Ministry of Works and Housing and three-time Member of Parliament for the Tano-North Constituency, has been appointed as Cecilia Dapaah's replacement as Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources.

A statement issued and signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency on July 25, 2023 reads, "The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has appointed the Minister of State at the Presidency and Member of Parliament for Tano North, Hon. Freda Prempeh as the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources. She succeeds the Honourable Cecilia Abena Dapaah."

Mrs. Cecilia Abena Dapaah resigned last week after it came to light that she had sued her former 'househelps' for allegedly stealing large amounts of cash in dollars, euros, and cedis from her chamber.

Many on social media and in the mainstream media questioned how she amassed such vast wealth.

Since then, the Office Special Prosecutor has detained her and conducted a home search.
