Hon. Akandoh, Driver And Bodyguard In Critical Condition After Head-On Collision.

Minta Kwabena Akandoh, his chauffeur Joseph Amo, and his police bodyguard Corporal Joseph Ntimbe, along with other passengers, are in critical condition following a near-fatal head-on collision on the Juaboso to Kumasi highway.

Kasapa News has learned that on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., driver Joseph Amo, 32, was driving the Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Hon. Kwabena Minta Akandoh, and his bodyguard Corporal Joseph Ntimbe from Juaboso to Kumasi in a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GN 441-14.

However, upon reaching a section of the road in the Nyinahin Twere Nyame area, the speeding Land Cruiser vehicle of the MP made an improper overtake while the hazard lights were activated, but the speeding oncoming vehicle – an M/ Benz Sprinter Bus with registration number AS 7363-18 travelling from Kumasi to Sefwi Wiawso was unable to avoid the collision, resulting in a head-on collision.

All of the injured passengers of the Sprinter Bus and the Land cruiser were transported to the Nyinahin Government Hospital.



The member of parliament, his chauffeur, and his bodyguard were referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for additional care.

The most recent report indicates that the member of parliament has been admitted and is responding to treatment, but his bodyguard, Corporal Joseph Ntimbe, is in a precarious condition.
