Secret Broken: Prof Mike Oquaye's Advise Can Help NPP Break The 8

Former Speaker of Parliament Prof Mike Oquaye has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to hold to the party's tradition of being established on meritocracy as the only thing that can assist them to stay in power.

In launching a book written in honour of the late Baffour Osei Akoto, Prof Ocquaye advised the NPP against 'monocracy', a problem in which monetary profits become the main factor in awarding positions in the party.

“We wish to resolve that we will not follow monocracy, but rather the principles and principles of the tradition.
"If we do that, Ghanaians would keep coming and knocking on our door to invite our government to take over the governance of this country," he said at the presentation last Wednesday.

Prof Ocquaye also prompted the NPP's grassroots to learn from the life and principles of the man the book was written to celebrate.

"If we [NPP] do anything else, we will not honour these brave men like Akoto, Danquah, Busia, Dombo and others," he said.

The book, titled Baffour Osei Akoto: A Royal Patriot and the Making of Ghana, is a collection of speeches and articles by famous speakers on the works of the late Baffour Osei Akoto.
