Shocking: Why Asiedu Nketiah Wants To Become NDC Party Chairman Has Been Exposed

Paul Adom Otchere, the host of Metro TV's Good Evening Ghana show, has released some revelations and details about the upcoming NDC primary and the "competition" between Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party's general secretary, and incumbent leader Ofosu Ampofo.


According to Paul Adom Otchere, both Asiedu Nketia and Ofosu Ampofo want to become party leaders. According to him, Asiedu Nketia wants to become party leader because he wants power or control over the person who will succeed John Mahama as the party's standard-bearer after the 2024 election.

Paul Adom Otchere explained this, revealing that while John Mahama will certainly be the party's flag-bearer, the party will need a new flag-bearer after the 2024 election. This is because John Mahama will not contest again whether or not he wins the 2024 election.

For this reason, both Asiedu Nketia and Ofosu Ampofo want to become party leaders. He added that Asiedu Nketia wanted to become a leader so that Ofosu Ampofo's ambitions of becoming a leader and also becoming the party's flag-bearer would not be fulfilled.

According to Paul Adom Otchere, leader Ofosu Ampofo wants to become party leader to one day be the party's standard-bearer.

“Whoever becomes party leader will play a huge role in choosing the next party leader, or presenting themselves as the next party leader. From there comes the “battle” between Asiedu Nketia and Ofosu Ampofo. So Asiedu Nketia realizes that if I don't challenge this man for party leader and I become party leader, the guy will be party leader after that because Ofosu Ampofo has harboured presidential ambitions since the days of Accra Polytechnic.

"So the fight is about inheriting the throne from John Mahama," he explained

Johnson Asiedu Nketia is the current Secretary General of the NDC. Ofosu Ampofo is also the current leader of the party. Ofosu Ampofo has already declared his intention to run again for the same position in the party's upcoming primaries.

Asiedu Nketia, on the other hand, has not yet declared his ambitions but it is believed he will compete with Ofosu Ampofo for the presidency.

According to Paul Adom Otchere, this is a fight for the throne of John Mahama because whoever wins the position will have the upper hand when it comes to one day being the party's standard-bearer.

Both Asiedu Nketia and leader Ofosu Ampofo are popular and very loyal to their party. Both are experienced politicians who have also done a lot for their party.
