Tuesday evening, two drivers whose vehicles were involved in an accident on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway near Krispol City fell into a coma.
Both drivers are being treated at the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa at this time.
While attempting to merge onto the road after dropping off a passenger at the Second Bus Stop in Krispol City, a Hyundai Elantra with number plate number GS 8091-18 travelling at maximum speed struck a mini passenger van with number plate number GR 950-16.
The impact of the collision was so severe that some vehicle components disintegrated, and both pilots went into a coma.
Although the passenger van contained elementary school students, none of them sustained visible injuries.
Residents attributed malfunctioning traffic lights and drivers' disregard for road signs for the numerous accidents on the stretch.
