Hon Woyome leads donation of food items to South Tongu flood victims - PHOTOS


The member of parliament for South Tongu Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome has lead his team to donate food items few days after donating over 500 bags of water to the flood victims.

The lawmaker and his team are sharing food items loaded in a long KIA in his constituency to his constituents who were affected by the spillage.





The Hon. Member of Parliament for South Tongu - Kobena Mensah Woyome, D.C.E - Hon. Seth Agbi and their entourage, the representatives from the G.E.S, Ghana Health Directorate, Naval Training School, the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service tour some flood-affected areas within the constituency.

The team started its tour from Hotel Waterfront, Holy Trinity SPA, E.C.G sub-station, Richard Novelty Catholic Hospital (Comboni) and the School, Sokpoe community, and Agave (Alikekope to be specific).

In these areas, parts of all the hotel rooms along Sogakope Detsawome road and Sokpoe were taken over by the floods, the entire ECG sub-station, the Comboni hospital, and the school along Fieve Road were also in the same situation. Some houses in the Sokpoe community were also affected. The Agbeve Electoral area - Alikekope entire community is almost taken over by the flood.



The situation is so serious that the authorities who visited pleaded with the affected persons to move to the high grounds to prevent further damage from the spillage. The Education Directorate also considers some alternatives that will keep school children safe in these dangerous times while the Health Directorate is also prepared for any eventuality. The Military Training School ( Naval base) was also tasked to remove the weeds around the pillars under the highway bridge so that the bridge is not affected. The Police and the Fire Service personnel are also on standby monitoring the situation as the spillage continues.




The food items given will help alot of the displaced indigenes who weee affected by the spillage.
