I have paid school fees for over 5000 students - Hon. Kobena Woyome

The member of Parliament for South Tongu constituency Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome has revealed that he has supported more than 5000 students in his constituency by paying their school fees.

In a questions and answers section hosted by the youth and some media personalities to engage the lawmaker, he stated with authority his impact in the education sector as far as his tenure is concerned. Honorable Kobena Mensah Woyome is currently the ranking member for youth and sports.

As part of a media conversation to delve into his impact in the constituency, he outlined some key steps taken to facilitate the progress of education in South Tongu. I use almost 80% of my common fund to pay school fees for my constituents, sometimes I even use my salary to pay when it becomes critical", he added.

"The difficulty I have is that I wish to list the beneficiaries of this fund but for certain reasons I won't. The numbers are huge and I can't mention an amount off head but I believe is more than 5000 students since I assumed office. When you visit the assembly all the records are there to see. There was a time I asked for the list to be printed for me. Parent didn't like it when I wanted to put the list out because they felt you have assisted", he added.
