Why you must choose NDC over NPP ahead of 2024 -Precious Agbenya writes

In the quest for a prosperous and thriving nation, it is crucial to scrutinize the track records of political parties and their impact on the lives of the Ghanaian people. Over the years, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has demonstrated its commitment to good governance, economic stability, and uplifting the livelihoods of Ghanaians. By comparing the leadership from the tenure of the late President Rawlings to the late President Mills and former President John Dramani Mahama, it becomes evident that the NDC has been a better manager of the economy, focusing on the welfare of the people.

Economic Management:
Under the NDC's tenure, Ghana experienced significant progress and economic stability. The price of fuel, an essential commodity for everyday life, was maintained at a reasonable level. During the tenure of the late President Rawlings, fuel prices were kept affordable, allowing Ghanaians to manage their expenses effectively. Furthermore, President Mills and President Mahama continued this trend, ensuring a steady rise in the economy without unnecessarily burdening the citizens.

Affordable Commodities:
The NDC's commitment to the well-being of Ghanaians is exemplified by their efforts to maintain affordable prices for essential commodities. For instance, during the leadership of President Mahama, the price of cement was reasonably regulated, ensuring accessibility for the majority of Ghanaians. However, with the present administration, the prices of commodities such as cement and household items have surged, making them unaffordable for many. The NDC's focus on the people's welfare is evident, as they champion policies that make livelihoods better and provide opportunities for economic growth.

Transportation and Basic Services:
Transportation is the lifeblood of a nation, connecting people and facilitating economic activities. Under the NDC's governance, transportation fares were kept reasonable, empowering citizens to traverse the country without undue financial strain. However, the current administration has witnessed a sharp increase in transportation fares, making it burdensome for individuals and businesses alike. Additionally, the rising costs of water and electricity tariffs have further strained the financial capabilities of ordinary Ghanaians. The NDC recognizes the importance of affordable basic services and pledges to address these challenges to improve the lives of the people.

Youth Empowerment and Job Creation:
One of the most significant challenges facing Ghana is unemployment, particularly among the youth. The NDC, under the visionary leadership of John Dramani Mahama, has demonstrated a clear commitment to tackling this issue. By reviving dormant industries, such as the shoe factory in the Ashanti region, the NDC has shown its dedication to job creation and reducing the unemployment rate. Furthermore, John Dramani Mahama's compassion for the youth is evident through various initiatives aimed at empowering them to become active contributors to Ghana's development.

Conclusion:
The NDC's track record of good governance, economic stability, and commitment to the well-being of Ghanaians make it the party with a better record at ruling Ghana and improving livelihoods. From maintaining affordable fuel prices to ensuring accessible commodities and prioritizing youth empowerment, the NDC has consistently demonstrated its dedication to the welfare of the people. As Ghanaian citizens, it is crucial to assess the impact of political parties on our lives and make an informed choice. By supporting John Dramani Mahama and the NDC, we can secure a better future for ourselves and generations to come.
