Alan’s Camp Chase Chairman Wontumi Over Open Campaign For Bawumia

Alan Kyerematen's supporters have criticized the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for campaigning openly for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia before the party's presidential primaries.

They want the party to punish Bernard Antwi Boasiako, who is better known as Chairman Wontumi, for breaking the rules of the party.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Chairman Wontumi is seen making it clear that he supports the Vice President.

He is also seen forcing some Members of Parliament, Constituency Chairmen, and party leaders in the area to say his famous "Bawumia Must Win" (BMW) chant.

Some candidates are upset by what he did, and they want the NPP National Executives to tell him to stop.

Nana Ohene Ntow, who worked for Mr. Kyerematen and used to be the General Secretary of the NPP, said that the party must do something.

Wednesday on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen show, he said that if the Ashanti Regional Chairman's behavior isn't fixed, it could send the wrong message to other candidates.

"Everyone should have the same chances, so Wontumi needs to be put in his place," he yelled.

Mr. Ntow asked the NPP National Executives to level the playing field so that the presidential primary could go off without a hitch.
