Devastating Accident Claims Commercial Vehicle, Reduced to Ashes on Akatsi-Dzodze Highway

In a tragic incident on the Akatsi-Dzodze road in the Volta Region, there was a fatal accident resulting in the loss of one person's life and several others injured. The accident took place near Wovenu Senior High School on Friday around 5:00 PM. A commercial sprinter vehicle, registered as ER 849-19, was involved and ended up completely burnt.

According to Victor Kale, an eyewitness and a reporter for a local radio station called Kaleawo FM in Akatsi, the vehicle was traveling from Accra to Dzodze when its rear tire burst. This caused the vehicle to somersault multiple times, leading to the immediate death of a female passenger.

The driver of the vehicle, whose identity has not been disclosed, managed to escape the accident unharmed. During an interaction, the driver mentioned that there were ten passengers on board at the time of the accident.

The injured individuals have been swiftly transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Dzodze for further medical attention. Meanwhile, the police from Dzodze have taken the deceased's body to the morgue at St. Anthony Hospital for an autopsy.
