Sad News From Sellas Tetteh’s Camp

Sellas Tetteh said that he hasn't been paid yet for helping Ghana win the U20 FIFA World Cup in 2009.

Tetteh was in charge of the Black Satellites team when they became the first African team to win the U-20 World Cup in Egypt more than a decade ago.

Tetteh, who also coached the Black Stars, says that no one cares about him even though he made history. He just got over a serious illness and is still fighting to get credit for Ghana's win on the world stage. In 2009, Ghana also won the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

"I've been talking to Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association, because when we won the World Cup, they didn't pay the technical team," he told Sports Obama TV.

"They didn't give us any cash. It was written down somewhere. I talked with Kurt Okraku about it. We were at least supposed to get $4000.

"As for the players' money and everything else, they didn't get anything. They saved it for them in an account. I've talked to the people in charge as well as Kurt Okraku, but he's been busy with the World Cup. I'll try to talk to him and meet him."

Between 2009 and 2019, he was the coach of the national teams of Rwanda and Sierra Leone. He will return to Liberty Professionals in 2021.
