Suicidal Man Rescued From A Height In A Ashanti Region

A man who was thinking about killing himself was saved from a high place by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). This happened at Afrancho in the Ashanti Region.

GNFS says that the officers got to the middle-aged "mentally unstable" man in time on Saturday, December 17, to save him.

He tried to kill himself by going up to the roof of the Afrancho Nfantoame Christ Upper Room Church in the Afigya Kwabre South District.

At 11:27 a.m. on Saturday, he called for help after some nearby residents tried to help him but failed.

After getting him to agree, they used a Turn-Table Ladder (TL) and rescue lines to get him to safety.

"Witnesses say the man who wanted to kill himself climbed to the church's outer roof early Saturday morning and stayed there until he was saved at 14:58 by the Breman District Fire Command's Rescue Team led by DO III Prosper S. Avevor," GNFS said in a statement.

The man who was rescued is now in the custody of the police and is helping them with their investigation.
