Why bulletproof charm I prepared failed Native Doctor

Qudus Shodimu, a 44-year-old traditional healer, was recently arrested by the Ogun State police for allegedly providing charms and protection to cultists, enabling them to deflect bullets. While Shodimu admitted to his involvement, he claimed that the failure of the bulletproof charm he made for a deceased cultist was due to the herbs and concoctions brought by the cultist himself.

The arrest of Shodimu and two suspected cultists, Noah Ayobami (also known as Anobi 7) and Azeez Ololade (also known as Bouncing), came after the police received information about a planned clash between the Aiye and Eiye Confraternities. The police, along with the So-Safe Corps, intervened and engaged the cultists, resulting in the death of Ayobami and Ololade. During the operation, weapons, expended cartridges, and charms were recovered. Shodimu, in his statement, mentioned that he began practicing traditional medicine after sustaining leg fractures from a previous accident. He further explained that one of his clients, who was later killed, had brought his own concoctions, which may have compromised the effectiveness of the charm. The second suspect, Oluwaseun Adebowale (also known as Eko), revealed that he joined the Aye Confraternity in 2020 after being introduced by another member. He explained that he was initiated forcefully and had not actively participated in criminal activities.

The Commissioner of Police emphasized the commitment of the police force to combating crime in the state and urged law-abiding citizens to provide valuable information to assist their efforts.
