Are You Saying Your Late Shoemaker Brother Had US$1 Million - Neighbor To Cecilia Dapaah

In a video that has gone viral, a Ghanaian woman is heard urging the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, to come clean and provide the public with honest answers regarding the alleged theft of $1 million, €300,000, and 350,000 Ghana cedis from her Accra residence.

According to her, it has been asserted that the sum in question belonged to her deceased sibling Nana Akwasi Essan II.

The woman explained that the minister's deceased sibling was a cobbler in Bantama before ascending to the position of chief and passing away in 2022.

She questioned how the deceased chief, who was known for his modest lifestyle, could have accumulated such a substantial fortune.

She accused the minister of misleading ordinary Ghanaian citizens when he tasked her with revealing the truth about the missing funds and her deceased brother's fortunes.

"I didn't want to comment on Cecilia Dapaah's situation, but Aunty Cecilia, are you saying that your brother Kwaku Nantwi, who was a cobbler in Bantama before he was installed as chief until his death, Nana Taluta, had millions of dollars? Why don't you reveal the truth, Auntie Cecilia, so that we can determine the origin of the money and put an end to all these controversies? If Kwaku Nantwi's children learn that all of the aforementioned funds belong to their father and come to you for it, have they committed an offence?

"Occasionally, when you are deceiving... We lived in Bantama with your brother Kwaku Nantwi, so I do not comprehend what you are saying. We lived with your brother Kwaku Nantwi, so we know he had a million dollars, but are you certain he had that much?

Since July 22, Cecilia Dapaah has resigned from her ministerial position and has been detained and released on bail by the Special Prosecutor following a search of her residence.

The docket of the theft case reported by the minister and her spouse has been submitted to the Attorney General for advice.

However, some of the former minister's relatives have also been questioned about the stolen funds from her Abelemkpe residence, which led to her resignation from office and the current investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
