A sprinter bus driver has killed one of five alleged armed robbers who attempted to ambush and rob some market women.
According to a police situational report, a bus carrying merchants was assaulted on the Ejura-Nkoranza stretch as it approached the outskirts of Ahyiaem town while returning from Yeji and heading towards Sunyani. The registration number of the bus is AS 9159-14.
According to the victims, five armed Fulani men fired upon the aforementioned vehicle, causing damage to the fan blade.
The vehicle immediately ran over one of the criminals after a police officer providing escort returned fire.
A Fulani adult male believed to be in his late 20s was discovered deceased in the middle of the road when police arrived.
He wore a black parka on top of a pink African shirt and black Addidas pants.
The deceased's body has been transported to the morgue at St. Theresa's Hospital, where it will be identified and undergo an autopsy while authorities search for the rumored four remaining suspects.
