Ghanaian Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse Grabs Top UN Climate Job

Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse of the University of Ghana was elected Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for its 7th Assessment Cycle by the IPCC's plenary.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body responsible for evaluating the science surrounding global climate change.

The WGI investigates the physical science underlying climate change in the past, present, and future.

Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse was an Associate Professor at the University of Ghana prior to assuming his current position.

She is an eminent scholar and climatologist with a history of making significant contributions to comprehending climate change and its effects on the environment.

Her educational background and professional accomplishments demonstrate her unwavering dedication to advancing climate science, fostering international collaboration, and advocating sustainable practises.

Prof. Klutse has represented the government of Ghana in IPCC plenary sessions since August 2016. He is also a Lead Author in Working Group I of the Sixth Assessment Report and a member of the Task Group on Data Support for the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.

Professor Blown Klutse is also a politician and philanthropist.

She is a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress and ran against Felix Kwakye Ofosu in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese primaries, but lost.
