KT Hammond, a member of parliament for Adansi Asokwa, has been charged with contempt. On October 19, the High Court in Accra is scheduled to rule on the case.
He is alleged to have compared the case of Gyakye Quayson to that of Adamu Sakande and suggested that the member of parliament for Assin North will incur the same fate.
Gyakye Quayson, the plaintiff in the case, had hoped to advance the case on Friday, but it was instead postponed.
Remember that we had already appeared in court regarding this matter, and the judge ordered that we must file any necessary paperwork by July 25.
We filed our supplemental affidavit on July 25, and we're back in court today, where the judge has instructed us to file written addresses instead of oral arguments. We filed our written addresses on August 31, and we'll be back in court in October for the ruling.
We summoned him to court because he allegedly made statements that have an impact on the Gyakye Quayson trial.
The Adansi Asokwa Member of Parliament, who arrived at the courthouse after the case, claims that the contempt charge was lodged against him because he is a target of the complainants.
