Mr. Beautiful, also known as Clement Bonney, has asserted that he was the first to introduce celebrity political endorsement in Ghana.

In an interview on Property FM in Cape Coast, the comedian stated that he felt insulted when he endorsed former President Mahama in 2012 because celebrity endorsement was new to many prior to his endorsement.

"Politics permeates every aspect of our lives, including the residences in which we reside.

"I was the first to introduce prominent political endorsement in Ghana in 2012, setting the standard for others to follow.

"When I set the tempo, many in the kumawood film industry insulted me and denied me movie roles by relegating me to the background.

In 2016, Agya Koo, Matilda Asare, and Lumba joined the group, but he claimed that it was he, Mr. Beautiful, who was responsible for its formation.
