In an internet video, the two robbers, Ali and Ahmed, were shown having their hair chopped off with a cutlass by the locals who had discovered them stealing.

The villagers, who were furious, forced them wear the goats around their necks and chopped their dreadlocks.

According to reports, the event took place in the Accra town of Nima.
It was evident from their expressions that they had been physically assaulted by the locals prior to having their dreadlocks chopped off.

Since the locals chose to punish them in their own way, the police were not involved.
