Gunmen raid the currency bureau during the day and steal GHC 400k at Amanfrom

At Amanfrom Top Town in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, two armed robbers on a motorbike stole GH¢400,000 from a forex bureau that doubles as a gold dealership shop.

The tragic event happened on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m.

The proprietor of the company in Kasoa Zongo, Alhaji Mumuni, revealed that the suspects had followed him from Kasoa Zongo and had robbed him at Aman from Top Town while he and his brother were on a motorcycle to purchase gold from a client.

Alhaji Mumuni claimed in an interview with Adom News that when they got to a particular stretch of road, the two motorcycle thieves stopped them, drew their pistols, and opened fire into the sky.

He clarified that the robbers started shooting straight at them after they refused to give them the bag.

Alhaji Mumuni stated that the bag had gold valued at GH¢150,000 and cash at GH¢250,000. Jonathan Essel, a witness to the incident, stated that they were bewildered by the suspects' claims to be police officials and wanted to step in.
