Man kills his ex-wife with a gunshot in Amasaman

On Thursday, December 28, 2023, a mother of two named Esinam Vivian was brutally murdered by her ex-husband at her tavern in Amasaman Three Junction, Accra.

Esinam Vivian and her ex-husband had a formal separation because of ongoing violence and threats. Her ex-husband entered the pub at around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, shot her three times, and then turned the gun on himself. Unsettling footage from the incident shows the dead woman lying in a pool of blood, while another shows the ex-husband fighting for his life while being surrounded by responding police officers.

What happened to the ex-husband when the cops took him away is unknown. On the deceased's request, the court had dissolved the marriage between her killer and themselves, as they had two children together.
