On Thursday, the President begins the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan review.

Tomorrow, Thursday, December 21, 2023, President Akufo-Ado is expected to inaugurate the Evaluation of Ghana's First National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) in the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House.

Ghana's National Framework for Anti-Corruption Initiatives and National Development is comprised of NACAP.

Stakeholders from across the country identified and approved strategic action plans for it during consultations.
According to a statement released in Accra yesterday, Ghana is implementing the NACAP in response to fulfilling its obligations under the 1992 Constitution, the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), and the President's pledge to combat corruption.According to the statement, the main advantage of NACAP was that its action plans were immediately included into National Development Planning, which made them an essential component of the yearly routines of public institutions like Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

According to the statement, "it has become necessary for the country to evaluate progress made in the fight against corruption under the NACAP after successfully implementing the plan for several years and in the penultimate year of implementation."

The statement clarified that a working committee made up of specialists and anti-corruption practitioners assisted in the design of NACAP.
Among them were delegates from the following establishments and associations:

The Ghanaian Parliament, Ghana's Judicial Service, the Office of the Attorney General, the Ministry of Justice, the Office of the President, the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), and the Internal Audit Agency (IAA).

The others are the Ghana Integrity Initiative, Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, Ghana Center for Democratic Development, Public Services Commission, Ministry of Finance, Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), Ghana Integrity Initiative, Ghana Integrity Initiative, Ghana Justice and Human Rights Institute, African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption, and Development Partners.
