Promiseland faces a significant defeat at King Promise's event as the performance is ruined by dumsor and technical issues.

The much awaited Promiseland performance let King Promise's fans down, and judging by his statements on social media following the event, the singer was as saddened.

The event was supposed to start at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel at 8:00 p.m., but it was beset by a number of technical problems, including regular blackouts, or dumsor as they are known in Ghanaian slang.

Excited fans who had come to watch King Promise and other well-known artists in line were not happy when the event started late, and they publicly expressed their displeasure at the venue and on social media following the show.

Entertainment journalist Kenneth Awotwe Darko, who was present and saw everything, reported that not a single watt of electricity was available to conduct the event at around 11:28 p.m.

Furthermore, the stage was not even fully erected when most people came at the scheduled time.

Six hours later, the concert finally started around midnight.

It's important to remember that similar problems plagued last year's event as well; fans gave King Promise some slack because of his prior incident with WizKid, but the show started late. Despite the difficulties, a number of other performers, including R2Bees, M.anifest, Camidoh, and many more, were able to amuse the dissatisfied Promiseland crowd, laying the groundwork for King Promise's final performance.

The following tweets from Kenneth Awotwe Darko help to explain what transpired that evening:

11:28 p.m. at La Palm in Accra, Ghana.Enraged fans are conversing all night long in the hopes that the show would debut shortly. They were here at the same time the previous year.
