Shallie's expulsion is described by the new force as a "mesuse of power for political interests."

Rather than attempting to show how the law is applied, the New Force has described what happened when its spokesperson, Shalimar Abbiusi, was arrested and sent home as a political ploy. The movement claims that the actors disregarded "the integrity of our country and its international reputation" in favor of their partisan political objectives.

The group issued a statement on Thursday, December 21, 2023, denouncing the brutal torture their spokesperson was reportedly subjected to by state security forces.

It has expressed regret for mistreating the young woman and abusing authority to do so rather than abiding by the law, as well as to Shallie's home country and the international community.

It has additionally conveyed its dissatisfaction with the state.

We sincerely apologize to the European Union committee, the Kingdom of Belgium, and the global society as a sign of accountability.

We hope you don't take a similar retaliatory action. We hope Ghana would reevaluate the allegations of abusing their position for political gain and realign with a strong judicial system that upholds our reputation as a just and peaceful nation on the international stage. Parts of the statement stated, "To us, partisan political interest is not as important as the integrity of our country and its international reputation."

Additionally, the movement apologized to the woman's family for the stress her treatment had put them under.
