2023 WASSCE Provisional Results Are Out Now

The preliminary results for the 2023 West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) have been made public by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

WAEC stated in a statement on Monday that the results only applied to students from Ghana who registered for the examinations this year. The testing organization states that candidates can view the results on its website.

Follow the instructions below to verify your WASSCE results online, but first make sure you have a current WASSCE result check.

Here's how to look up your outcomes.

Step 1: Visit Ghana.waecdirect.org to access the WAEC result webpage for WASSCE applicants.

Step 2: Enter your index number as the first detail on the port.

Step 3: Choose the exam type you want to take. If you were registered for the exam through a private or public school, choose WASSCE (School); if not, choose WASSCE (Private).

Step 4: Select your exam year. For 2023 candidates, your exam year is 2023.

Step 5: On the result checker scratch card, enter the serial number. (Verify carefully to prevent errors.)

Step 7: Re-enter your examination year and index number.

Step 8: Select "Submit."

Wait patiently for the result to load.

After it loads, you can print the result or save it as a PDF file to your computer or mobile device.

Performance Statistics

A total of 448,674 candidates—212,453 men and 236,221 women—from 975 schools sat the exam.

Compared to the 422,883 entrance figure for 2022, this amount is 5.8% higher.

A total of 3,404 persons (0.75%) did not show up for the exam.
