A Nigerian preacher, Prophet Abel Boma, has revealed a potential coup plot in some West African countries, including Ghana.

Prophet Boma cautioned the people against considering such actions and urged them not to betray their nations. He specifically emphasized that a coup would not benefit Ghana. The recent overthrow of the government in Niger has brought attention to the issue of military takeovers in Africa, particularly in West Africa. Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea have also experienced similar situations in recent years. President Akufo-Addo strongly condemned coups in the region, asserting that ECOWAS must unite to eliminate this threat. In light of the circumstances, Ghana hosted a meeting of the ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defence Staff to discuss the situation in Niger and plan a potential military intervention. This meeting was a follow-up to the decision made by the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government during their Extraordinary Summit held in Abuja, Nigeria.
