Corruption is collapsing NPP gov't, it's time to speak out - Fmr NPP MP

Former Member of Parliament for Obuasi East Edward Micheal Ennin has spelt doom for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) as he accuses party leadership and its appointees in government for being overly corrupt.

He explained the magnitude of corruption within the government and calculated attempts by party leadership to sabotage and force Alan Kyerematen to quit has put the party in a bad light.

Mr Ennin, who served as MP in the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Parliaments of the Fourth Republic of Ghana on the ticket of the NPP, says he wouldn’t have joined the party some decades ago if its leadership was corrupt as the current crop.

“This is not the party which my late father who was founding member of National Liberation Movement birthed with their toil, blood and struggled at the mercy of Dr Kwame Nkrumah who was then persecuting all NLM leaders and members,” he bemoaned.

While registering his displeasure on Akoma FM’s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma Monday, October 2, the former lawmaker for Obuasi East told host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that “there were calculated attempts and plans that were enrolled during the Super Delegates Conference”.

“The move was to force all ministers, DCEs and other government appointees to vote for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“They will threaten you that the ballot papers are serialized so we can know who vote for who and we will come after you.

So all these strategies to keep Dr Bawumia ahead of others is making the party unattractive to the youth and the floating voters.”
