Do Not Be Afraid, We’ll Stand by You Throughout – Atta Akyea Assures Bawumia

Samuel Atta Akyea, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South has endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the New Patriotic Party as flagbearer.

The endorsement comes after similar rounds of endorsement by Members of Parliament for Okere, Dan Botwe and O.B Amoah, of Akwapem South.

During a campaign stop in the Abuakwa South Constituency by the Vice President, Atta Akyea led delegates of the party to sing a Bawumia rendition of a local gospel song to assure the vice President of his support and his delegates’ support.

Highlighting other reasons for his support of the Vice President, the seasoned lawyer said although he has about 5 friends contesting the race, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best person to lead the New Patriotic Party.

“I have 5 very good friends among the 10 people contesting, but the truth is that Dr. Bawumia is most deserving and the best to lead us to victory.

So Abuakwa South will vote for Dr. Bawumia massively, just as we did for Nana Akufo-Addo.” He said.

“Dr. Bawumia has worked so hard for the NPP and contributed so much to the Government of President Akufo-Addo” He added.

Explaining further, Atta Akyea Bawumia’s courage in the dock on behalf of the party in 2012 convinced him God has blessed Bawumia.

“The day I had so much respect for Dr.

Bawumia and I was convinced God has blessed him was when he stood in the box alone and defended the NPP at the Supreme Court. I am a Lawyer and I know it is not easy to be in the dock, let alone a high profile case like the presidential election petition.”

The NPP is scheduled to hold a special delegates Congress to choose 5 out of 10 flagbearer hopefuls for a main election on November 4. Dr. Bawumia is considered a key Contender and favourite.
