GNAT, Teachers' Fund Donate 150,000gh to Akosombo Dam Flood Victims in Volta Region

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and Teachers’ Fund have donated an amount of GHC150,000.00 to its members in the Volta Region (North Tongu, South Tongu and Central Tongu) affected by water spillage from the Akosombo Dam.

GNAT donated GH¢100,000.00 to its members in the Volta Region (North Tongu, South Tongu and Central Tongu) affected by water spillage from Akosombo and Kpong Dam.

Also, the Teachers’ Fund donated GH¢50,000.00 to the teachers affected by the VRA-induced action which has inflicted grave harm on the people of North, Central, and South Tongu Constituencies in the Volta Region.

The water spilled by VRA has displaced thousands of people leading them to lose properties and businesses they have toiled to build for years.

Since the start of the spillage, many generous individuals, media houses, politicians, and foundations among others have lend helping hands to support the affected victims in diverse ways.

As days tick by, the affected victims hope that the government will devise a long-term remedy(ies) that can solve the problem to the core.
