Ghanaian Striker Inaki Williams Registers Assist In Athletics Bilbao Comeback Win Over Osasuna

Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams once again showcased his prowess for Athletic Bilbao as they secured their second victory in the 2023/24 Spanish La Liga season.

In a remarkable comeback, Athletic Club overcame a two-goal deficit to clinch a thrilling 4-2 win against Real Betis Balompié at the iconic San Mamés stadium. This triumph marked their first victory in four encounters against their rivals.

Despite Willian Jose and Isco scoring two early goals within the first ten minutes, Athletic Bilbao displayed unwavering determination to overturn the deficit and ultimately emerge victorious.

The turning point came when Inaki Williams provided an assist, further boosting the team's morale after his brother Nico Williams had previously ignited hope with a well-executed delivery.

In the first half, Inaki Williams earned two pivotal penalties, both of which were expertly converted by Mikel Vesga in the 30th and 45th minutes, leveling the scoreline.

Remarkably, before halftime, Bilbao completed their remarkable comeback as Gorka Guruzeta capitalized on an Iaki Williams cross into the box, netting a close-range finish in the seventh minute of added time.

Following the break, Bilbao emerged with renewed determination, intensifying their pressure on the visitors to secure a favorable outcome. Inaki Williams once again played a role as his cross created confusion in the opposing defense, leading to Unai Gómez scoring his first senior goal for the team. This sealed a resounding 4-2 triumph.

Next on their agenda, Athletic Bilbao is set to face Mallorca in their fourth game of the season on September 3.
