Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Toku secures loan move to Danish side Aalborg BK

Danish club Aalborg BK has successfully secured the signing of Ghanaian attacking talent, Emmanuel Toku, for the remainder of the season.

This agreement, negotiated between the Belgian club Oud-Heverlee Leuven (the player's parent club) and Aalborg, also includes a potential purchase option following the loan spell.

Emmanuel Toku previously played for Fremad Amager in the Danish second tier from 2019 to 2021, where he made significant contributions with 12 goals and six assists in 39 official matches. Subsequently, he embarked on a stint with Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria.

During his time in Bulgaria, the former Ghana U17 and U20 player participated in 70 official games, accumulating eight goals and six assists before making the switch to Belgian football in January of this year.

Aalborg's Sports Director, Ole Jan Kappmeier, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating:

"Emmanuel Toku is an exciting offensive profile who can play both on the edge and as eight and ten.

"Right now he lacks match training, but he is both strong with the dribble, is a shooting threat and has speed, and he is also an excellent pressure player, which is why we have confidence that he can contribute, so that we can hopefully continue our good start to the season."

Despite his potential, the 23-year-old player struggled to secure regular playing time with Leuven's first team, featuring in only three matches since his transfer from Bulgaria during the winter transfer window.
