Ghanaian social media users have descended on President Akufo-Addo after announcing plans to rename the University of Ghana after his uncle, J.B Danquah.

The President has caused quite the stir in a video going viral online.

During an event, he revealed that renaming the University of Ghana, Legon, after J.B Danquah is a possibility.

The President said that is a way to honour the achievements and legacy of J.B Danquah, who was one of the Founding Fathers of Ghana and Akufo-Addo’s grand uncle.

His comments have sparked anger online as netizens bash him for being only interested in enriching his family instead of ruling the country properly.
