Sege's previous NPP parliamentary candidate becomes independent

Ms Lasi's decision comes on the heels of extensive deliberations with her supporters and a desire to provide effective representation for the people of Sege

Eunice Lasi, a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate in Sege, Greater Accra Region, has broken with the organization.

Following lengthy discussions with her supporters and a desire to effectively represent the people of Sege, Ms. Lasi has made her decision.

In a press conference on Tuesday, the 12th of 2023, at her Sege campaign office, Lasi announced her plan to run for the Sege seat in the approaching 2024 elections as an independent.

She disclosed that she had sent a formal resignation letter to Justin Frimpong Koduah, the general secretary of the NPP.

She formally resigned from the NPP last week in a letter to the general secretary of the party, citing violations she claimed were planned by the regional party chairman, Mr. Devine Otu Agorhom, and the constituency executives. These violations culminated in the recently concluded primaries, in which she was defeated by her opponent, Dodzie Numekevor.

Ms. Lasi claims that these purported transgressions contributed to her recent loss to Dodzie Numekevor in the party's just concluded primaries.
