Sing-a-thon: To speed up the certification procedure, we've paid $750 - Afua Asantewaa

Afua Owusu Asantewaa Aduonum stated that she had spent $750 to expedite the verification process in her bid to set a new Guinness World Record, just weeks after finishing an amazing five-day singing marathon.

She clarified that in order to avoid the regular review period, her team chose a priority review, which came at a fee of $750.
Asantewaa and her team opted to speed up the process in order to obtain results more quickly, even though the typical waiting period for Guinness World Record results is approximately 12 weeks.

Selecting a priority review shortened the approval process to five business days.

Afua Asantewaa said in a JoyNews interview, "They asked for our data right away after the attempt. As we were assembling everything, word spread that they were anticipating the films due to the event's popularity, so we sent in everything."
"You can expedite the process by paying a certain fee, and your paperwork will be reviewed in five working days. Though there are transaction fees associated with funding the account, the official amount is $650. We spent a total of roughly $750 on the priority, she said.

In 2023, Afua Asantewaa accepted the challenge of breaking the current singing record, which was achieved in 2012 with 105 hours. (Afua Asantewaa applies for the Guinness Book of Records using sing-a-thon evidence.)

On Sunday, December 24, 2023, at midnight, her singing marathon got underway, and it ended at seven in the morning on December 29, 2023. By the time Asantewaa finished her incredible endeavor, she had sung nonstop for five days, six hours, and fifty-five minutes.
