The first female professional photographer from Ghana has passed away.

Ghana's first female professional photographer, Mrs. Felicia Ewuraesi Abban (née Ansah), passed away in Accra.

January 4, 2024, saw her passing at the age of 87.

Mrs. Abban died in Accra, Ghana, and left behind a legacy that goes beyond her outstanding contributions to the field of photography.

In addition to shattering stereotypes as a female photographer, Mrs. Abban was a role model for aspiring industry professionals during her illustrious career.

She formerly held the prestigious office of President of the Association of Professional Photographers Ghana, which is proof to her leadership and knowledge.

The late Mrs. Abban was a prominent family member who made a lasting impact on many aspects of Ghanaian society. She was the sister of well-known people including JKE Ansah, Tumi Ansah, and the late Kofi Ansah.
