Astute Lawyer and Historian, Lawyer Yaw Anokye Frimpong has chided the Former Trade Minister and a Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate aspirant, Hon John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten saying his decision to step down from the race is a huge disappointment.

According to Lawyer Yaw Anokye, Alan’s withdrawal from the race is a disappointment not only to himself but to the Asante Kingdom as a whole.

The NPP flagbearer hopeful in a statement on September 5, 2023, announced that he had withdrawn from the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential flagbearership race citing foul play by leadership of his party in the super delegates conference held on August 26, 2023.

However, speaking on Angel FM in an interview monitored by MyNewsGH.com, Lawyer Yaw Anokye categorically reiterated that, his decision was a huge disappointment.

“In the first place, he did not help himself and also Asantes”. He disclosed.

He further, noted that looking at how the Former Trade Minister rose to the top of the political ladder and could easily become a President, throwing in the towel a second time is a disappointment to himself and the people of Asantes.

The private legal practitioner disclosed that, in the history of Ghana, any region that loses grip of government at any particular point in time usually lags behind in terms of development. To him, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten at a point in his career becomes the hope for the people of Asante who could have salvaged the situation.
