[VIDEO] Landguard Clashes at Taifa Reportedly Leave One Dead

Armed landguards and some wood vendors got into a battle in Taifa, Accra, and one person is confirmed dead and numerous others hurt.

Information gathered indicates that the land owner had wanted to evict the wood sellers, but they refused to relocate to a different location.

On Wednesday, September 20, some landguards stormed the area to forcefully evict the wood sellers, resulting in a standoff.

The riots resulted in the burning of tyres and the blocking of public roads.

The free-for-all fight also resulted in the destruction of properties.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has intervened to restore law and order.

The police say they have deployed a number of officers to strengthen security in the area, and the road has been opened to normal traffic flow.
